Luneta Park

Luneta - Luneta Park or Rizal Park is a known historical urban park that is located at the heart of Manila Philippines. I've passed by and had toured around the area a lot of times and it never fails to amaze me each time. Amidst the chaos that exists in the capital city of the Philippines, this area always makes me feel at home. Maybe because I am fascinated by the colonial architectural designs of some of the old buildings and ruins that still exists that dates back to the Spanish and American Era.

My country is rich in history. We've fought a lot of battles against our colonisers and I think we were right on doing it because this park wouldn't be that historical if we didn't protect and fight for it. The new highlight of Luneta Park these days is the fountain light display. And I must admit - IT WAS AWESOME. People - family - lovers - kids - adults - teens - oldies - everyone was there laying on the grass and watching the amazing display of lights and water as it swayed along contemporary pop and old songs. I was awed and I suddenly felt more proud to be a Filipino because even tourists from other countries were captivated by the said exhibition.
Me with the very famous statue of my country's national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Adjacent to this area, was the place were he was held prison and captive. He died on this spot.

Basically, if you want to go on a historical journey 'bout the old Philippines, you can walk around the area of Luneta Park 'til Intramuros. Everything that surrounds this place is full of historical artefacts. I strongly suggest you guys to take the traditional means of transportation in the old times - the kalesa. But must have to give you a heads up - it is quite expensive. Probably, 30-35usd if you want to tour up to China Town which is also fascinating to check.
Pardon the faggot face. Ahh! Don't worry 'bout the Kalesa Drivers, they can very well understand and communicate in English. And must have to tell you, they know their history too well and they know each and every space around the area, so all you have to do is to trust them. Don't forget to hand them some tips because the fee for the short Kalesa tour directly goes to the Kalesa owner who waits for the ride at the end of the pit stops. So, they're kinda secured and shiz.
