Brique

Finally, after months of wanting to try out Brique, I had the chance to try out their dishes and it didn't fail me at all. Located at the Garden Rooftop of Ayala Center Cebu lies this resto/cafe that offers exciting platters that's sure to satisfy anyone's graving and the place is cozy too :)
Spinach Gorgonzola Dip, to die for. I like the salty taste which lingers to your mouth after every bite. If you're on a diet - you'll do good with this starter.
Sunrise, orange and lemon fresh juice.
Hungarian Sausage, the very traditional served mashed potato on the side - gives you that European vibe.
Lamb Adobo, surprisingly good.  I love the plate presentation for this one. Love the garlic topping, I think it's very creative. The rice was fried well and the lamb was nom! It's a MUST TRY.
Island Breeze, banana watermelon mint leaves smoothie. Taste really good but have to say it's better paired with brunch dishes :)
Eggplant Fries with Anchovy Aioli Dip, I'm seeing eggplant in a whole new level on this one. Probably the most satisfyingly healthy substitute for regular fries. The dipping was absolutely tasty. It's a MUST TRY.
Mizo Glazed Salmon, topped with gorgeous onion rings. I'd say this is hotel like dish and presentation. It tasted so good and the Salmon was cooked perfectly. It's a MUST TRY.

All in all, it was a great experience. I love the dishes that we had and I'm looking forward to dining back. Price wise, it's worth it. I like the ambiance but have to say, it does get crowded on weekends, which I would suggest going in upon opening or make some reservations to avoid waiting. Gusto Mare

A few months ago, I've written an entry about Gusto Urban Cafe + Wine Bar and had mentioned a whole loads of good stuff because they're serving really good stuff. The cafe that I blogged about is at the heart of the Cebu and now we're heading down south - SRP for their other branch - Gusto Mare. I've never been into a beach themed restaurant before and have to admit - the interiors, views, vibes and food was fantastic.
*They have a small function area for goods who prefers a little private hang out chill.
Caramel Cheesecake, talk about putting cheesecake into a whole new level. The taste was authentically different from the usual cheesecakes we're used to - the caramel taste gives it an extra boast of caffeine like texture.
*The decors heading to the restroom til the toilet itself was beautiful. It had that home vibe by the beach which I'm pretty sure a lot of people envied and would want for their own place.
Scaloppine, is a thinly sliced pork with coating paired with rice (placed in a funky dish ware) - and I have to say, it was super delish.
*The hanging lights were made from steel buckets, it was very DIY feels and it looks really cute.
*The cake corner was lined with sweets treats, to which people like me would end up drooling. I also tried their Chocolate Eclair and it was yummy.
Ravioli, it is by far my favourite pasta from a local restaurant here in Cebu. The authenticity of the flavours was great and how the pasta was made was perfection. It's got the Italian vibe.
*The view is spectacular, specially during day time.  I suggest people should drop by during lunch or past lunch and have the option to stay indoor or outdoor to see such view.
Pesce Alforno, is baked whole Lapu-lapu fish topped with mashed potatoes and paired with rice and again, it is delicious. Perfectly baked and the rice is also seasoned well.

All in all, I love the Gusto Mare experience. By far in both branches, I couldn't complain on anything. Everything is neat, the food is great, the servers are fantastic and the place is superbly decorated in a very relax way. Price is a bit pricey on certain dishes and on some bottles of wines but it's worth every penny. I highly recommend checking out any of their branches around Cebu for that laid back, intimate experience after a day's work or on weekends with love ones.

Birdseed Breakfast Club + Cafe

There's a new Breakfast Club and Cafe in town and it's one of the neatest and inviting cafe I've been into - Birdseed Breakfast Club + Cafe offers more than just coffee and breakfast meals. It offers an ambiance of home with good music and interiors.<3 p="">
Eggs Benedict, really good eggs benny and the sauce was delish. Hotel like quality if I may say.
Green Tea Latte
French Toast, with fruits that taste so good - feels like home.
Beef Tapa, rice was good and the beef was perfection.
Salmon Silog, so good and good and good.<3 font="">

Overall, it was really a good experience. Their place is located at Axis Building Escario and it opens at 7a. Price ranges from 35php to 360php. Plus, they have the quirkiest restroom I've seen. For more, please check their Facebook page https://web.facebook.com/BirdseedBreakfastClub/

Chocolatier Cebu

Had been passing this cafe for a very long time and I was always curious about their menu and the food  but never really had the chance to dine in until last Sunday when I decided to make a bold choice of going in with my mother. And surprisingly, they seem pretty normal :D
Their menu, to which I obviously went straight to cocktails and boy oh boy oh boy - look at those choices. I'm damn sure, it's chocolate with liquors - oops! It is indeed :)
It's just a small place. Kind of reminds me of a hotel lobby somewhere in Davao :) They also sell Merci Chocolates and other known brands :) But we opted to try some of the chef's special :)
Chocolate Euphoria (if I remember the name correctly) - is HEAVEN! The crushed bottom is made from Ferrero Rocher and it's just amazing. It kind of melts in the mouth as you munch on it and it's just too mouth watering as I'm remembering it now.
Linguine in Pesto with Crusted Chicken - I am in love with the chicken's coating. The pasta? Not so much. I think the sauce was too blunt - I can't even taste the pesto in it but it was surprising to see nuts on top of it. So, I love the chicken but not the pasta.
White omelette - It's crepe like omelette with white cheese and everything that's supposed to be in an omelette. I am amaze by the mixture of flavour but I eventually won't be indulging on it again 'cos I'm obviously not a fan of white chocolates :D
Sausage chocolate sandwich - the sausage was fine as well as the presentation but I don't seem to jive with the idea of nutella on my hungarian sausage :D
The view - your view when you dine there :)

Overall, it was a good experience. Food wise - it was OK. I mean, some people may love chocolates on their dishes but not me. I still think that sweets belongs to desserts but it was interesting to try something new.

I think that, one should dine there if, they're only to munch on beverages and cakes. They have cake choices that are just mouthwatering and they also cater to cake orders for special occasions. Price? Just average. Not too expensive, not too cheap.

They're located at the lower level of the Ayala Terraces Cebu beside Healthy Options. They offer free wifi and it's a good place to have meetings and small talks with your lovers or friends :)

And oh, I forgot to take photos of our drinks. I had their signature chocolate smoothie like drink but didn't really love it that much. But they have other choices which I'm sure has that rock star taste :)

Revisiting Plantation Bay Resort & Spa

Of all the resorts within Cebu - Plantation Bay Resort and Spa is a personal favourite. What makes it truly special is the spacious vast area that they have. The huge man made lagoon is amazing and the people who works in the resort itself are friendly and good looking people - like seriously - I have been crushing on some of the bellman there :D Shhh...

Anyhow, the other choice that I had as to where I'll be celebrating my birthday was Crimson Resort but looking at the room rates and the facilities they have - Plantation was no doubt the better choice. So, my family and I decided to check in as always on the Lagoon View Room then transferred to their One Bed Suite Lagoon View Room as both rooms were exquisitely fantastic and I invited in some friends and they had the same reaction as I do.

So, here are a few snaps of our stay and luckily during which days - the Davis Tennis Cup were having their game at the tennis area of the resort. 'Twas New Zealand versus The Philippines and holly crap! Those men blonde men from New Zealand were HOT :D
View from our room. Although the Lagoon View room is nice this particular building for such room option doesn't really offer the best lagoon floor for swimming :)
Closed friends that I invited to hang with :) I seriously have to thank Katherine (the girl in red blue stripes) for coming in spite being sick. But this is prolly the only person I know, who still wears her red lipstick even though she's not feeling well :D
Room amenities and view from the one bedroom suite that we transferred into the next day. Our room bookings were mixed up because they were fully book during our stay. Initially, we only booked for an overnight stay but decided later on that we add one more night. Their one bedroom suite is like a family room which can cater up to 5 or 6 persons 'cos it really has a huge space but lagoon wise, I still prefer the rooms near their spa area - the lagoon view rooms there are superbly nice 'cos one you go out of your veranda, you can dip in the water which isn't deep :) And it has a more private vibe :)

The main reason why they were fully booked that week - The 2013 Davis Tennis Cup was happening. Philippines vs. New Zealand and lucky us - guest were allowed to watch for free :D But, just as we decided to finally sit and watch on it's second day of games - mr. rain decided to pour out hard and so, my chances of meeting the love of my life were doomed :)))

Overall, it was another great experience and a real pleasure to be staying at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa. From crew to linens - I love it all. I love the spacious area and just about everything. It is basically my choice of resort hotel within Cebu. :)

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa

My mother's mom and her sisters were here for a short vacation and for our first stop, we decided to lounge around Plantation Bay and Spa Resort. As always, the service and place is fantastic. One of the best places in Cebu to be spending your vacation.
Entrance area from the resort lobby.
View from our room and the swing outside our dig :)
Was unable to take a shot of the front view of the room but got this shots instead. What I like about Plantation Bay Resort and Spa is the white embroidered bed linens and contemporary Mexican like guest rooms which gives out a relax ambiance for all guests.
Tennis Court, Play Ground and Mini Golf Course and my lovely huge thighs :) I can tell from my aunt's faces that they were enjoying themselves :)

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa is beautiful no matter what. Among all the resorts that I've been to in Cebu, this place never fails to make me contented and happy. My current favourite is the harbour area as well as the floating gazebo that's located near the lobby lounge.
The restaurant at the center by night.

It was truly a blissful and lovely stay. And here's a few selfie shots of yours truly :)
Was seriously trying to get some tan but didn't get too tanned - prolly because I was using an SF 50 sunscreen :D Haha

'Til next summer! For more details kindly check: http://plantationbay.com
