The Social Cebu

There is a new cafe in town that turns into an awesome chill out bar at night - the Social is conveniently located at the new wing of the Ayala Malls Cebu. What I love about the place? Everything :)
I absolutely love the interiors. It's like walking into an Australian or English or downtown Manhattan cafe. I love the feel good ambiance paired with a street like flair and just look at the almost open kitchen where you can check out chefs preparing your dishes :) LOVE <3 p="">
The Social offers Breakfast, All Day, Wood Fired Pizzas, Nibbles, Beers, Cocktails, Wines and Mocktails and never forget - Coffees :) We had Chicken Caesar Salad, which was served with pouched egg, lettuce, cheese, bread crumbs and grilled chicken. Really good. I love the pouched egg - it was a bit of a surprise to see it on top of a salad dish. A bucket of Fries, which were sprinkled with parmesan cheese (if I'm not mistaken). Three Little Pigs Pizza, I find the name amusing but it is what it is, it is consists of a thin crust pizza (soft not too crunchy - which is good), pepperoni, ham and bacon. The Social Burger, grilled patties with pineapple and the usual burger pairings. Really good as well :)
A closer look at the fries and burger. Does it make you hungry yet? Bet it does :)

All in all, it was a good dining experience. Looking forward to dining back to try out their other dishes. For more infos, go check www.facebook.com/TheSocialCebu or check their website www.thesocial.com.ph And oh! Did I mention that they play great music? They do, it's totally cool :)

CYMA

Revisiting another personal favorite restaurant in Cebu. Always a pleasure dining in to this place especially with my food trip buddy.
*Dakos, for appetizers. It's Greek Bruschetta with cheese, tomatoes, black olive paste, capers, oregano and balsamic syrup. Quite a bag for an appetizer, though I still prefer the four kinds of cheese.
*Cyma Chopped Salad, mixed greens, arugula, toasted walnuts, sliced pears, sun dried tomatoes, crumbled bleu cheese and grated Parmesan topped with Greek vinaigrette. I didn't see the pears coming on this but it was good. I'm a salad fan and this is really a Must.
*Greek Coffee, has officially become a personal favorite next to my ultimate favorite - Turkish coffee.
*Baklava, layered phyllo with walnuts and orange honey. Delish but I still prefer the home made Turkish baklava made by my friend's mother.
*Baby Clams Angel Hair, also good but I still prefer their Pastisado. I'm not a fan of Angel hair pasta :D

I think CYMA a is one of those places where you feel like you're on a vacation somewhere once you sit on their tables and eat. Always a wonderful ambiance and experience. Very relax.
